I saw these and thought it would be nice for surrounds in my living room. Great price and only probably 3 miles away. Two issues: 1. I don't need them. My homemade surrounds are great. From Minimus 77's, in sig below. 2. Those look like foam surrounds. I think they are pretty small with <5" woofers and it seems are smaller than my 5" metal cones. I wonder though, are these too good of a deal to let slide even though I have reservations?

And then there's these. Different seller, same neighboring suburb. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/914874167240958/?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=marketplace_top_picks&referral_story_type=top_picks
None of these on this listing seems like the cat's a$$ of speakers, but again, good prices.
The Infinity speakers are very decent and look to be in good shape. The Kenwoods are awful, and well in the junk category. The Infinity speakers are a big upgrade from what you have.

Sounds like you want them. They’re close by and reasonably priced. I say go. Let us know.

I just messaged him. He replied back right away. I told him I'd take them. Meeting tomorrow.I thought they'd be gone. @TLS Guy , did you notice the Kenwood seller had 3 or 4 others on the same listing? It looks to me they are all in that sub-par category.

I am buying that set, but also inquiring about this set. Do these look like Infinity woofers? I asked for the model number so I could look into it more. Waiting on that. He is also super close. https://www.facebook.com/share/1DH9EqwsGi/
They look like the original woofers. One thing to consider- these have a foam surround and those don't last forever, but if you're in the MPLS area, you have Midwest Speaker Repair , so you can buy a re-foam kit easily. However, being bookshelf speakers, don't expect them to provide strong bass.

I didn't just fall off the turnip truck :). The intended purpose will be to replace/improve my surrounds in both systems.
Btw, I used to visit Midwest when they were called Market Speaker at Snelling and Iglehart in St. Paul in the 70's.

Sorry for the OT. But I have a pair of DLK speakers. They apparently were the house brand speaker of schaak electronics on Snelling. I bought them from my neighbor. She said her dad bought them as a kit. I R&R’d them and gave them to my oldest son. They sound really nice. Especially paired with a subwoofer as they are sealed speakers. If memory serves, Schaak was purchased by sound of music, which became Best Buy.

No, that was Sound of Music. You live in the Twin Towns too?

I got the Infinities and I am impressed! Comparing them to my Axioms and the home made jobbers. Axioms and Infinities are equally great, home made jobbers are bright, but no where near as balanced as the other two pair.

@William Lemmerhirt, iirc DLK is or was a local outfit, were they not? My older brother had a pair of floor standing ones in the 70's and they were good as far as I remember. But I was a youngster.

On second thought, the Infinities sound better than the Axioms. Until..... playing them now has revealed the surrounds are shot! They were fine when I hooked them up, but the music rattled them loose. Now severely cracked. I bet the guy had them parked in the closet for who knows how long. They looked fine and I am sure he was not aware of it. Is this something I can repair myself? I have never done it before.

You need new surrounds and dust caps. You also need the correct voice coil shims and speaker glue and you are set.

Give Midwest Speakers a call in Roseville. They do have some Infinity speakers on their list, but not yours. See if they can at least get the parts. Speaker repair is not that difficult if you can get the parts.

Those speakers are off facebook. Post the model number and the driver if possible. Remove one so we look for the right parts.

Can anyone tell me about these: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1076293420377185/?ref=saved&referral_code=null
He says he replaced the woofers and he said they are the same as oem, but not clear poly. I cannot find anything Infinity with that woofer on an interweb search. I asked him for the model number and he said he cannot tell me until he gets to his storage. Maybe he'll answer soon.
I'm suspicious of those speakers, I think they may have been mucked about.

Midwest has replacements on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/150376865861
Might be my best bet? I am thinking yes.
edit: I called MW to see if in store pricing is better. It is. I asked him if besides the rubber surrounds if they are the same, he said, "no, they are an upgrade".
