Infinity Beta 40 loudspeakers

I am looking at purchasing a pair of either infinity beta 40 loudspeakers or a pair of infinity primus360s. I was wondering if someone could explain to me some of the pros and cons of each and which would be a better choice? I can get either pair for a reasonable price, so price is not my main concern. I am most interested in getting the best quality speaker of the two.

the primus line is the entry level speaker for Infinity. the Betas are a step up.

that being said, the Primus 360's have larger 6 1/2 inch woofers and will provide more low-end fill than the 5 1/4 woofers on the Beta 40's. You have to step up to the Beta 50's to get the same size woofer.

If you don't have a sub, I would go with the Primus. If you do have a sub or you plan to get one, get the Betas. :)

Did you ever get your advice?

I am looking at the same decision and wondered what you came up with. I hear the Primus 360's are great, but can't help but think the Beta 40's have a better parts list and therefore are a better set of speakers.

Which speakers did you get?

Thanks

Here's my thoughts.
The Primus Series use MMD drivers.
The Beta Series use CMMD drivers.
The Beta 40s have 2 ea. 6 1/2 " Low-Frequency Drivers vs 2 ea. 8" Low-Frequency Drivers in the Beta 50s.
The Beta Series are a step up from the Primus Series!
I hope this helps!
