I figured I post an update on the theatre/ media room. Not much happened over the last two weeks. I had relatives over during the holidays, so I spent the time hanging out with family and friends.

This past week I installed the old work brackets for the speaker and 7.1 panels. In addition, I painted the decora panels and inserts I got from parts express (<-- shout out!)

This upcoming week I'll finally start pulling the wires for the connections and start wiring things up. All my components are still in their boxes from the move. "Just hold on babies, daddy will let you out soon"

Here are some pics...

Nice work. The color u chose for the sockets seem to match the wood work very well! Mmmmm paint fumes :)

Tell me about it. I painted them in the garage and my whole house smelled like spray paint.

The smell even brought my wife downstairs. Thankfully the room is all mine, so no issue about WAF. I'm sure I'll hear about smelling up the whole house someday.

You know, I have to ask, because this has been bugging me for a while:

When did Paul ever say "Long live the fighters?" ? I've read the Dune original series a few times (the originals and Houses Atriedes, Harkonnen and Corino, but not the others), but for the life of me I can't remember where he said it.

All right, another Herbert fan!

Actually, I'm not sure if he said it in the books at all, I'll have to check. I took that from that scene from the David Lynch film that I use as my signature image.

I got introduced to Dune from the film when I was a kid. Then I went and read the books. As such, the film never disappointed me as it did for other hard core fans. So I'm probably the only Dune fan that likes both the films and the books.

Gotcha....I saw the movie waaay after I read the books (as recently as last year I think), because people told me to avoid the movie like the plague!! :p

I've heard great things about the Dune Mini-series though that was released 2 or 3 years back. You should check it out...I've caught glimpses of it from time to time and it did look interesting....just never had the time to go back to it.

I saw the Sci-Fi channel mini-series a couple years back. I liked those too. I wish they could have given them a better production. Too many of the outside shots looked like they were shot in a studio. But other than that, I liked the added attention they brought to the series.

I would love for the Dune films to get a treatment the way Jackson did LOTR. That would be fantastic. But until then, I'll always have my imagination.
