Just wanted some opinions on in-wall speakers. How is the sound quality? I'm looking at the polk audio rc85i for my front 2 in my ht setup. Have no idea what to match them with as far as center and surrounds. My main concern is the quality, if I'm gonna cut a whole in the sheetrock, I want it to be worth it. If you have any recommendations it would be appreciated. I do not necessarily have to buy polk. My room is approx. 16x20 and has 15ft ceiling. We are trying to stay away from floorstanding speakers.

I personally stay away from in-walls. Sure there are some very good ones out there (Kef, Klipsch, etc.) but I like having the freedom to easily move things around. With large holes in the wall, this is not possible. Also not all in-walls allow you to pivot the speakers to hit your listening position. I would use bookshelf speakers and wall mounts before cutting holes in sheetrock.

I know it is personal preference, but I'll take some opinions on some decent wall mountables under $900(for entire speaker system) tight budget

Your budget in total is $900 for a 5 speaker in-wall setup?

If you are on a tight budget stay away from In-walls. I have a set of Boston In-walls in my living room. They look nice as they don't jump out at you but they sound inferior to the Boston bookshelves that are in my Family Room HT setup or even my Boston Outdoor speakers on the patio. They do their job ok as they are only used for background music not serious listening or HT.

$900 budget not necessarily in wall. Was just asking about in wall. just want to keep the mains wall mounted, not floorstanding.

At your budget, go with some decent bookshelf models and use a wall bracket or actual bookshelf to mount them on. Good in-walls end up being pretty darn expensive and require a lot more thought and planning then to get them to sound decent... They still won't be as good as floor standing models. There are tons of bookshelf speakers out there that fit your price point and give you excellent sound for your dollar. Not as elogant, but better sound.
