So, my parents are building a new house and want some in-wall speakers. Would in-wall speakers be ok for the mains? My dads not looking for something thats gonna blow him away, hes not an audiophile, but he does like a good sound. Im thinking in-wall isnt gonna sound as great as some regular floor standing speakers, but its not that big a deal for him, he would rather just have it that way.
So that was my first question, is ok for the mains, the second question is, what do yall recommend? Granted the budget isnt tiny, but Im guessing he doesnt want to spend more than 1000 or so on all the speakers, including center, rears, and sub. I know its not gonna sound the best, but oh well, hes probably not gonna watch it that much anyway, haha.
So anyone with some experience, let me know, thanks.

1K will not get really good in-walls (not a 5.1 anyway) Look for Speakercraft and Sonance and tell him to bump up the budget.

I agree with Greg Gable to up the budget and get something decent. If it is not possible, here are some in-wall, in-ceiling speakers cheap. Can't say how they might sound - could be HTIB or worse - no way to tell but they are low priced. Monoprice stuff is usually pretty good, at least for cables and switches.

You coud get five 8 inchers for less than $250 and have the rest of the budget for a receiver and subwoofer.
