In-Wall Speaker Wire? Help.

Hi,

I am looking for help on what type of speaker wire to buy for my 5.1 home theatre system. I will be purchasing axiom speakers and I will have two 12 foot runs and two 20 foot runs of wire in the wall. Is there specific grade/gauge or brand I should be using for in-wall wiring? Can anyone recommend a good web site or to buy speaker wires (favorite brand?) Do I need wire that has 4 conduits at the end or 2 conduits at the end?

Any help for the newbie would be appreciated.

John

Just make sure you run UL listed CL-2 or CL-3 rated cable. I ran Ixos throughout my house. www.accessories4less.com

As far as 2 or 4 conductor, unless you are bi-amping run the 2 conductor cables for each speaker run. Don't skimp on the terminations either. The job will look professional if you finish the runs with the proper covers and 5-way binding posts on the walls.
