In-Wall Speaker Rec

In the process of upgrading my gf's(this is where in-wall comes into play) AV set up. There is limited space, so I am going to mount the TV above the mantle. The speakers will be under the TV. Leaning towards going with just a 2 speaker/LR system, although I could possibly go LCR. Not going to use any side or rear speakers. I have a HSU STF2 to go with it. I would like to keep things around $500-$600 if possible. Looked at some of the Def Tech speakers, but I have no experience with in-wall speakers. I saw some HSU in-wall speakers on their website, but not many reviews online. Anyone have any suggestions?

They are surely on sale, but I believe the $500 price is inflated. I see them for $150 on a few places.

Well, that was the original retail listed price. I'm sure no one is going to sell them for $500 now that Amazon is selling for $99.

I was planning on placing the speakers horizontally, with the tweeters towards the inside. Will that affect or distort anything?

These Pioneer use Coherent Source Transducer (CST) technology, so the sound is suppose to be more balanced than some other speakers even with "different" placements. I think you will be fine.
