I am looking to make the jump to in wall speakers but I find that every time I find some I like I seem to hit the brick wall that you need a pro to install them, yadda yadda yadda. I will be building the a new HT from the ground up, green glue and all so I would like to find a decent front and surround set (keeping my sub I have now external), without breaking the bank, that I can up into my design and buy and setup my self. Any advice?

Hello
Installing In-wall speakers is not that difficult, but you do need correct placement, the correct in-wall for the room and know of the many pit-falls you can endure when installing them such as blocking in external walls ect...
If you are new to Ht would suggjest hiring a pro to do the pre-wire and correct in-wall install.

RLA, thanks for the reply. The system is going into a new basement from an addation being built, the placement I can handle. I just would like some insight on products that I may not have thought of yet and that are not hard to aquire. Honestly I am even considering keeping my current setup and using fabric walls to hide the speakers from room sight.
Thanks again...

Hello
Conventional In-wall speakers are ok if you are not looking for high-end high performance. If this is your goal and want the performance offered by a traditional large floor standing loudspeaker but must go in-wall look at these.

They will give you mind-blowing performance and unobtrusiveness at the same time. The smaller of the two is mounted on-wall and a shadow box will be built around it. Both models are designed for installation between wall studs 16" OC and then finished out with drywall. The only thing that shows is the front baffle or grill cover if installed.

AVRat, Funny I was just looking at Niles, before I read your post. I like the look and price. I just have to find a place to give them a listen.

Ray:

My wife and I once auditioned the high end RBH system and found it a little forward and high enery for our tastes (especially her tastes). Are these in walls a similar sounding speaker to the T2 Signature system? If so, are you aware of anything of comparable quality in wall that's on the warmer to neutral side? In that regard, have you heard the new Dali Euphonia Phantoms? For that matter, has anybody else heard the Phantoms?
