in ceiling or in wall

If you buy these types of speakers do you need to build a box around them or can you just use the brackets and hang them? Does anyone have any suggestions for rear surround usage in the 200-300 dollar range? Thanks

I am considering a "In-Wall" system also. Does anybody out there have comments either good or bad on this subject? Can you actually achieve
good quality sound with the proper steps taken during construction? I
have been looking at the JBL HTI series. I like the look that a built-in would
have, but I don't want to compromise too much sound quality.

I don't have in-walls, but I do have in-ceiling. They image great, and sound awesome. In-ceiling, in-walls are just like any other speaker. They all sound different, and some are more quality then others.

I would recommend "sound enclosures" for atleast your mains. Surrounds are up to you, I just used brackets.

Take a look at my Webshots pictures. You'll see the enclosures and speakers.
