I currently have a pair of KRK VXT 6

And Auralex MoPads

I have 525$ (which is alot for me)
How do I best spend this money to upgrade my system? I don't plan on staying where I live forever, so if any room treatment is recommended, it needs to be reusable. Anyways, what do you guys think? One fancy subwoofer? 2 lesser ones? 1 lesser sub and room treatment? etc etc. I don't really know! I hope you do. : 3

Thanks so much for your time. I hope you're well!

well the first question is do your actually NEED room treatment? if not i wouldn't waste money on it. as far as lower frequencies go room treatment can only do so much and personally i would not recommend it unless it is an unusable room because it is only going to help so much. secondly, what do you actually want for your system? there is a multitude of things you could get to improve it. if i understand your system right it is a pair of active monitors and a sub with a busted crossover correct? if i were you the first thing i would do is either repair your sub or get a new one.

Whoa ... that's serious. Get as much sub as you can for that money. I have two lesser subs because I initially had one lesser sub and the best thing I could do with limited cash was to buy another just like it so I did. It's important to note that I initially had one lesser sub because I didn't know any better.

Get over to the subwoofer forum and do some homework. I know that ParadigmDawg and Davemcc had good things to say about some subs in that price range. Consider the used market. EBay local pick up is about my best advice for that.

Agree with others get the best sub you can get for the money and don't even waste money on a crappy sub (much less two of them) One great sub will outperform two lesser subs and you'll hear the difference. Also in time you can save up and get that other great sub to have a stereo sub system or help tame those nasty null voids.
