impedance matching for anolog audio cables

I've noticed that people are using 75 ohm video cable for anolog audio. I've also noticed that some prefer to use neutrik (profi) type rca connectors. I'm not sure if these are a 75 ohm connector or not. If in fact they are not 75ohm connectors what happens to the audio signal with this impedence mismatch? Since it is not a digital signal but an anolog audio signal does it effect the signal at all?

Boy...no response yet..must be lonely...

RCA's by design are not 75 ohms.

The impedance mismatch will be of no concern for audio unless you are gonna start running kilometers of cable between components.. Coupla decades ago, Bell labs found that the wire inductance in conjunction with the insulation's frequency varying dielcetric constant, caused a varying propagation speed through the audio band, making for distortion..they figured it out, and came up with equations to relate it all.

Ten feet? for audio freq's, it's not a problem.
