Sup folks?

I was at a Blockbuster a few months back and saw a lonely Sci-Fi movie sitting all by itself. It's called Immortal. It had a cool box, and the description sounded pretty interesting. But I hadn't heard of this movie, and I've been burned in the past by covers that have cool pictures on them, do I didn't rent it. Well a few weeks ago, they were showing Immortal on Sci-Fi, so I watched a bit of it. It seemed pretty cool, so I went back to Blockbuster and rented it.

This movie frickin' rocks!!!!!!!

The story is pretty cool. But what makes it stand out to me, are the visuals. It's shot pretty much the same as Sin City, (live actors and CG characters set against CG backgrounds). It looks frickin' awesome. The story kinda slows down at the end, and the plot is a little strange, (an Egyptian god needs to find a human host body so he can impregnate a woman to be reborn), but the first half of the movie is worth the rental.

To those of you that have the ultra high-end TV's and DVD players, I think this movie would make a great demo disc.

Immortal - Check it out!

Do you mean Immortel?

If so, I think i'm in the same situation you were in; I've looked at the cover a few times - intrigued, but haven't made the plunge yet.

I might have to pick it up next time I see it now... :)

Sounds just a little like Stargate. I may check it out though...because I liked Stargate and I've found a few little gems checking out the weird title here and there...like Equilibrium.

That is indeed the one!!! Maybe they changed the title to English for Blockbuster? Definitely go check it out.

Immortel ad Vitam, released in France with English language. It's directed by the guy who wrote the graphic novel. I rented this a couple of times shortly after it's release 2 years ago. I thoroughly enjoyed it, plot holes and all. CGI is not the best, but passable, story is large in scope, can be wickedly humorous, but not always easy to follow. We had a thread about this at AVS back then. Some hated it (professional reviewers - hey, Josh) others got behind it.

If you are into SciFi, you'll most likely dig it.

I've almost bought it several times but always chickened out. But with an endorsement or two I think I'll give it a shot.
