My beloved Paradigm Pw-2200 v2 that I have had for 20 months has just taken a crap on me. Thank god for the 3 year warranty on the amp and 5 on the woofer. I cursed myself by boasting about how much I like this sub for HT and music. Oh well, its going into the shop tomorrow, the store says it could be about 6 weeks at worst to ship off either the amp or the woofer (I am sure it is the amp) before I'm back in business. :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

That sucks cam, having equipment blow is a true pain. Atleast it wasn't a processor, or display. Hopefully all goes well.

But atleast I have my green chicklet back, all is not lost! Who am I kidding, I'd rather have that stupid red chicklet and a pw-2200 that I could crank up right about now. It is Friday and my rye and coke just doesn't taste the same without some low frequencies rumbling my inners.

rye?!?! rum man, simplify :p I know what you mean. My stereo went 6 months before a subwoofer, and I can't imagin how I would survive without it. I heard a pw2200 at a local store that sells paradigm. It was nice. I think it was running a little hot, and it was sort of boomy, but my friend was a PDR 8 and its nice and clean. How much to does units retail for?

I was always wondering why the back plate on the amp was always warm 24/7. I had discussed this with other people who had found out from Paradigm directly that this was normal. Back in Feb 04 I paid $1050 CAN.

The sort of boomy experience you had I could replicate easily in my room. Using bass management, a SPL meter, and a little crawling around for bass to find an optimal location for the sub, whola.....no more boom.
