Hi I'm new to the site. After many years of neglect, I've gotten back into audio, and boy how things have changed. I know that this is not to interesting to most people. but what might be of interest is what I 've found out so far after spending lots of money for speakers and such. I have settled on a Yamaha rx-v3200 for pure sound, It has .02% THD and is a 45 pound behemouth. I like to call it the T rex of receivers. With it I tried many brands of speaker and found that jbl l890 and {believe it or not} BIC DV64 work perfectly as dual fronts. The BIC are about the only ones with passive radiators and they complement the JBL's perfectly. I have tried Yamaha ns777's, boston acoustics a360's, and polk Monitor 65T, but this was the best combination. I truly believe you need 2 sets of mains, so that one does what the other one doesnt do. Yamaha rx-v3200 JBL L890 JBL LC1, YSTSW216 SUBWOOFER,BIC DV64's boston acoustics a360 as surrounds, and a SonyCDP-CX355 Mega storage canger.
