I have an older XBOX360 that I tried to hook up to the free HDMI port (DVR or HDMI4) on the RX-V1900. No matter what I tried in the AVR menu, I could not get the XBOX to display through the AVR via HDMI. I even switched to a known working HDMI port and still nothing. I had to connect it directly to the display to get video output.

During my troubleshooting and going through the input assignments, I noticed that there were a number of different connection types; ie. coax, spdif, HDMI, etc listed for each component selection (dial on the front panel that switches from DVD, VCR, CABLE BOX, BLURAY, CD ) etc.

Armed with this knowledge and not having studied the manual with respect to I/O assignment, I completed the I/O assignment. I left the XBOX connection via HDMI connection to the TV . I took the SPDIF from the XBOX to the SPDIF input on the AVR labelled TV. I then went into the I/O menu and assigned the TV SPDIF to the DVR input of the AVR.

I tested the setup.. display set to HDMI3, AVR input to DVR and I got my display and 5.1 out. Satisified with the results, I created an XBOX activity on my Harmony 650 which sets the display to HDMI3 and the AVR input to DVR.
