Ok I have no manual whatsoever. I'm having difficulty getting my home theater setup. Actually, it's working, but I don't think I have it setup optimally. TV does have component video inputs. Panasonic DVD player and digital receiver. Here's how I have it hooked up right now (this has to suck)...From DVD player to receiver is an optical wire. From DVD player to TV is a single yellow RCA cable. All I want to hook up is the tv, dvd, and receiver. What is the best way to do this? I appreciate the advice.

The optical cable is fine, but NOT the composite video. Of course, your options depend on what DVD player you have, what receiver you have, and what TV you have. Could you please post the brands and models of your equipment?

receiver is panasonic sa-xr25. tv is a sharp, I'm not sure what model, but it does have component and s-video inputs. I don't know the DVD player model, but it came in a home theater package with the receiver. So basically the optical cable I have running between the receiver and dvd takes care of all the audio? Does the tv hook up to the receiver or dvd player? Thanks again.

Like Jax mentioned, that optical cable is good. That will carry just your digital audio from the dvd player to the receiver. Now for the video. For best picture you should not use the single yellow cable you have plugged in currently. That cable is called composite and is not going to give you the performance equal to the a set of component cables. You mentioned you do have component inputs on your tv so do yourself a favor and go out and get yourself a set of the red blue and green component cables to carry just your video. I would not reccomend getting monster cable as they can cost over $100 in some cases. I get my cables from wallmart :D and honestly can't tell a difference.
