DO if you do not make the basket and are fouled while attempting your shot, otherwise, you get one 'foul' shot if you do make the basket and are fouled while attempting the shot, therefore you get the opportunity to make four points.
At least that is the way it is in the pro's. Do not watch enough (read none) of college basketball to know if the same rules apply there.
