ok i have a few things on there way a new yamaha 2700 reciever,HD-XA2 ,and a surge/power conditioner, polk rti12's,csi3 center, velodyne DLS-5000r sub. My yamaha in walls will stay untill i can get some polk in walls. my room is 18x22 with a 12' ceiling in the center and with the fireplace sticking out 3' on the left side The kitchen and entry way are the next biggest openings to the room but there is a half wall between the kitchen and the family room. Do you think the velodyne sub will be ok for this size room or does the kitchen need to be factor'd into the size of the room. IF you can see me surounds in the pictures do you think they are out of place or should be moved they are adjustable and are angled to the seats. Also in the picture of the screen door to door is 15ft. the screen is 96in. wide and I sit 12ft from the screen. Is that to close or to far i do have room to move things around. Any ideas or better ways to set things up would be a big help thanks.

The first thing you need to do is pull the front speakers out from the wall and screen. That is destroying your front stage. If you are 12ft away, the speakers should be somewhere around 10-12ft apart as well...but you can get away with them closer together most likely, but where you have them now looks too close for 12ft away (I wouldn't sit any further away). I would also put the cener on top of that stand and pull it completely flush with the front end.

Yes, the surrounds look like poor choices in basically each case.

get yourself a center that matches your Rti's ... and put it on top of the rack (replacing those candles) a little higher would be better -> as close to the screen as possible.

without knowing your room size, the 5000R would have to be the best (for the price) you can get from a B&M store.

I couldn't read most of your posts, because one of your pictures is expanding the entire thread and I have the attention span of ... what are we talking about?

sorry about the long post i was planning on the RTi6 for the center but as for now i have my old cerwin vega up there but it is on top where i have been told to move it. The 5000R has been working great so far no complaints at all.

Congratulations on the new equipment.

I like the retractable screen with the hidden flat panel behind it.

Very nice. And it looks like you really stepped up the audio with the new speakers.

Well done!

I like the empty tier rack. You had to have two racks whether you were going to use them both or not eh?:D

Nice house. I like the layout with the empty spaces and angles. Too bad it totally sucks for home theater.

the sub is behind the couches next to the fish tank.
