OK, so i am not sure what forum this should go in but here is the problem.

I am looking for an easy to access, reliable and budget solution to my remote problem. if anyone has any ideas on some good universal remotes, let me know.
I don't want to spend too much money on it because after all, its just a remote but i want something that isn't a piece of crap...

Well I know that you said that you didn't want to spend to much so maybe one of the mid range Harmony remotes. I absolutely love my 880. Had some family over the other day and my aunts loved that i only had to hit one button to get everything to work. One of the best things I've bought. Check out JR dot com they have some good deals on them.

I also recomend Harmony remotes. I have the Harmony 688 and I love it. So does everyone else in the house. It is simple to setup and very customizable. It has completely replaced all 7 remotes I used to have to juggle to make my equipment work.

It really depends on how much money you are willing to spend. RF base staions with IR eyes on all your equipment can be very handy depending on your setup.

Check out the Home Theater Master RF10/20 at http://www.universalremote.com (consumer series). These are slightly feature reduced versions of the Total Control series (professional) and much cheaper. Remote + base station is about $100 at Amazon.com.

I'm also a big fan of the URC series remote controls. Specifically the MX-850 remote which has very nice to the touch buttons which are easy to find and use in the dark with a top notch back light for those times when you need it. A bit more expensive, but works well. I've had mine for over 2 years now with a 3 year old in the house... that thing has hit the hardwood at least 50 times without issue.
