I really need help making a choice

As a Christmas present to myself, I'm diving into the Home Theater Pool. I've gotten myself a nice 50" Plasma, and I've managed to get in on the Energy Take 5.0 Pack Home theater deal over at Newegg. The only things left to pick are a good AV and a Subwoofer. Reading the reviews on the Energy Take 5 Classic it really stresses the need for a subwoofer. Now the 5.1 system comes with a the ESW-8 100w subwoofer and I can get that if it's the best match, but the review do seem to indicate that while the subwoofer is VERY good it might be a little weak for the size room I want. So I was thinking of getting a touch larger Subwoofer 10" or 12". That is where my questions come in.

1) How important is it to pair like minded speakers w/subwoofers. Since this is a Energy Take 5 System is an Energy Take 5 Subwoofer the best match? Or would a similar Polk, Sony, etc... work just as well.

2) I'm getting the 5.0. The 5.1 comes with the 8" subwoofer. Does that mean it's ill advised to go bigger than the 8"? (10" or 12")

3) The ESW-8 is a 200w subwoofer. I've seen good deals on 10" and 12" but the watts is typically less than 100. Is that a big deal?

Finally just to give an idea of how I'm going to us it, again this is going to be for my home theater. It's going into my wide living room, which is why I'm thinking I'll need more than the 8" to get "proper" sound. The room is 13 x 22 and the TV's going right into the corner.

I don't know what your budget is, but the HSU STF-2 or eD A2-300 would do well in that room. It isn't important that your sub and speakers are the same brand.

Well that at least answers the matching question.

Truthfully my budget is limited. I'm looking to get a subwoofer for under $200. Hope to find a fair one on sale. The Energy ESW-8HG 8" 200 watt Take Classic subwoofer which normally goes with the system is available for 149.00. So I'm really just looking to go up one step from that, to a 10" or 12". But when I search for that kind of thing I tend to notice that they have lower watts and I'm wondering how big of a deal that is...among my many other questions of course

If you could stretch for the HSU or eD sub, that'd be a step up. Under $200 your best options are a Dayton sub from Parts Express or a sub from The Speaker Company.
