i have this Pioneer DVD Player (DV-366), i over played the remote by changing menus and default setting, i think i adjust something says to progressive instead of interlace setting, and when i start playing a movie, a "GUI" word will appear on the dvd player, and there is no output or display on the TV but the sounds are playing.

i've already read and search on the net about this problem, and found something thats sets your player to default mode, the code was "hold press the stop buttom on the player then press standby/power ON button, they said that it go to default then the "Lets Get Started Words" will appear, but on my case it didn't appear.

so if someone here so kind to help please please i beg for your help, its been 2 weeks that i cant watch movie from my dvd player, be'cuz of my curiosness.

I am not familiar with that player. Have you tried to contact the maker and talk with a tech for the correct reboot code?
I had issues with another make that I first thought might be the projection TV but then discovered it was the DVD player after all. Almost sent it in for repair when I called the maker and talked with a support person. Gave me the code and fixed until it happens again.

Have you tried to unplug it completely for a while? Not sure if that will help but it seem to work on some receivers.

There may be a button that changes the video mode on th fly. My e-cheapo DVD player has it. It cycles from CVS, YUY, and P-Scan. Try looking up your DVD manual. look at your remote button layout and what they do.

Try one that has anything to do with V.Mode or Video output.

If you try to select progressive scan while connected via composite (VCR cables) or S - video.

GUI = Graphical User Interface. The reason why you can't see anything is because it's outputing the video to the component out and not the standard A/V out because that output is not capable of P-Scan.

CVS is where you want the V.Mode set.

@junray...............
Was your player in standby mode (off), when you tried the reset? It has to be. It won't work with the player on. That is how you reset a Pioneer player.
Once you reset it, you'll need to turn dts back on, and reset any settings you had customized before, because the hard reset will put it back like it was the day you took it out of the box.
Good luck!
