Im using a 12 year old preamp with no digital inputs for my new 2.0 system with a UPA-2 power amp.
My ps3's analog output for cd playback is terrible! The treble is way to harsh.
I would like to get a receiver, probably used, with an HDMI input to use with my ps3. I dont really care about 5.1 right now but most semi-modern receivers probably have that feature anyway.
What is a moderately good receiver for me to find used that will work good for 2.0 cd playback via HDMI from the Ps3? Is there some entry level receivers or processors with a good DAC? Or perhaps I don’t need a receiver and just a processor or external DAC? (I do have the power amp and don’t need amplification)
