I need to create a speaker

Hey wondering if anybody knows how to create a homemade speaker.... i need to make one for physics but i have no clue how... iv tried with a magnet and a coiled wire and a tin can but it did not produce any sound

Just so that I'm clear, you are trying to make a speaker cone from scratch? Are there any restrictions put on you by your teacher in how you do it?
