<font color='#000000'>Hello staff members and forum. &nbsp;Like many, I am buying a reciever and speakers. &nbsp;I know my receiver at this point. &nbsp;The new Sony 9000ES, only because it pushes the Denon 5803 to 2nd place for the first time. &nbsp;The price is still out though?

Speakers: &nbsp;I demoed the Klipsch RF-7 today. &nbsp;Very dissappointed. &nbsp;Great 15&quot; sub!!!! &nbsp;And that was $6400 worth of hardware. &nbsp;I love the M&amp;K S-150 THX Ultras, but they are higher $$$. &nbsp;

You all please help me with a superb 7.1 speaker system under $6000. &nbsp;I am 90% movies, and 10% music, but will become more with SACD full bandwith enjoyment soon! &nbsp;I ask this of you because I don't know any other speakers to look for? &nbsp;Thanks.</font>

<font color='#000000'>I have scowered everywhere for a good THX Ultra solution for sub $5000. &nbsp;If you like the M&amp;K S-150 THX Ultra you can get the complete 5.1 setup at http://www.downtownaudio.com/mksthxulcosy1.html for $4,099.49, cheapest i have seen anyehere. Add another 2 surround speakers for the back channel and your set.

Very compelling alternative at lower price (Winning of EISA 2003 Award in Europe) is the Jamo Boxen SET D-7PEX 7.1 Steingrau for €4.824 from https://shop-4you.de in Europe. Jamo is the largest European speaker manufacturer and this set is one of the first THX Ultra 2 compliant sets. Check Review at http://www.hifichoice.co.uk/review_print.asp?ID=2548 or checkout http://www.jamo.dk/consumer Its well worth a look.

If you want THX Ultra 7.1 set checkout the Jamo Boxen SET D-6PEX 7.1 at an unbelieveable €1.797

Not sure of US pricing, but you can look up distributors in your state at Jams's website.

I had my eye on M&amp;K, but I am now looking at Jamo on the best price/performance on THX Ultra and Ultra 2. If you can read German (or can have someone translate it) check the review at http://www.areadvd.de/hardware/jamod7.shtml
In summary they say it is a &quot;Real Dream&quot; only to be bettered by systems costing considereably more such as the KEF Reference Series.

Hope this helps

<font color='#000000'>Hi Action,
I have an upgraded Denon 5800 and love it.
The new Sony seems awsome but depending on your timeline, Denon will soon announce a successor to the 5803 which will probably address some of the features that the new Sony has.

I'm not suggesting that you don't get the Sony, I'm just saying that Denon's 5803 is not static and they have not yet announced their product for 2004, so you might want to see what they do before you plunk down the big bucks.

The feature that I felt Denon was extremely forward thinking on in both the 5800 and 03 is the 2 sets of analogs which has conveniently allowed me to have entry level 5disc sacd and 7 disc dvd-a players until all that digital and combi stuff gets worked out in a meaningful way.

I use 5 4ohm Totem Model 1 speakers in my relativly small media room 10-12'w x15'd x8'h as well as Axiom QS4 dipoles as surround B and Monitor Audio Bronze 4si as effects speakers and the Denon (as I'm sure the Sony would) handles them all with ease.

My weak point is my Paradigm PDR 8 sub which softclips on many current action flicks.

Anyway happy hunting. Once you get into the Flagship territory there are some excellent products to choose from which are ideal for pretty much any environment.
