Audiophyte
I have a Sony KDE-50XS955 Plasma that I have connected to a Comcast DVR. The video is HDMI into the Sony from the DVR. The audio is from the DVR to a Yamaha YSP-800 digital sound processor. The audio from DVR to YSP is fibre optic. I also have a Yamaha sub-woofer connected from the YSP. Everything works and is nicely controlled by a Logitech Harmony remote. My problem is that I can't use the fibre connection into the Sony (and thence from the Sony to the YSP), I and don't understand why. Also, I can't get the Sony speakers to work with this arrangement, even if I have an additional audio connect from the the DVR to the Sony.

Can anyone help. I sure would appreciate input from all of you guys who know what's up. Sorry for what is be a low level of audiointelligence.

TVs usually don't pass digital audio on as they do the analog. At least IO am not aware of one. You will have to pass all the digital audio to the processor, somehow. Have you checked the TV audio setup? Maybe it has to be set, not sure as I am not there yet:D
