I just recently bought a new house, i got it all "pre wired". So I have two plates at the back for the back speakers. Another two at the front for the front speakers. easy right? But im looking for another plate to connect my receiver so those speakers will receive some sounds. All I can find is a plate with a coaxial, and another one with 2 RGB & 2 Cat5! Did I get screwed here? Or am i missing something? can you guys help? im really new to this...thanks!

Was this for whole house audio? There should be a head-end located somewhere in the home, ie family room, network control panel room, ect. If you cant find it ask the GC to find out.

this is my bonus room upstairs. I just dont know where to connect my receiver. Not unless the builder didnt put an extra plate for me to plug my receiver. Does this mean I have to install one just for my receiver??

I thought you were askig about wall plates, but apparantly not.

Where did you specify the receiver to be connected?

If you don't know, I really think you should be asking your contractor these questions.

I/we don't know your layout.

He does. He ran the wires.

Ask him where he intended for the receiver to be connected, or at least where those wires come out.

As much as I'd like to help you out, these are questions you need to ask the builder. Of course, 30 minutes and a flashlight might also do wonders...
