I'm looking for some material of known reference quality recording to test the overall setup of my system. Listening to some of my CDs I don't know if it's the recording or my system. I'm just now getting it together, so I want to know what's what in the source -> signal -> output chain to my ears. Thanks

A selection of SACDs I found for system evaluation

I decided to do some homework and ordered these on amazon:

Dark Side of the Moon 30th Anniversary Edition - Pink Floyd
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00008CLOA/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance

I used to have an oscilloscope hooked up to my stereo and in my mind this is the most "sonically pure" record ever made.

Telarc SACD Sampler: Sound and Vision - Various Artists
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000CRR3PG/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance

From my memory, the Telarc label is hi-fi and the selections seem reasonable

Blue Coast Collection, The E.S.E Sessions - Various Artists
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000VI5BZA/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=A3DJR8M9Y3OUPG&v=glance

This is about as hi-tec as it gets, in my humble experience.

Fantaisie Triomphale [Hybrid SACD] - Theodore Dubois
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000NY166K/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance

It says this one is a sonic splash and has some good bass and 32' organ lines.
