I need a CC for my Paradigm studio 20's

Thanks everyone that helped me in finding a great set of speakers. I brought home my Studio 20's and the CC-470 last night only to find that the 470 is way too large for my Plasma TV console. I need to find another CC in the Paradigm lineup that will be close in matching the Studio 20's. I would like to conseal it in the console that has a 20" wide opening. The CC-470 is 23" wide. It almost dwarfs my 20's! I couldn't believe how much more sensitive the 20's are over the Onkyo (theater in a box) speakers. My usual volume level for movies was 62. The Paradigms sound that loud at 35! Well, any help in pointing me in the right direction for a CC that fits and work well with the 20's would be great.

Your only option would be too go with another 20 and lay it on its side. Going with anything outside the Studio line would destroy the timbre matching across the front soundstage.

Agreed. I would see if you can get 1 Studio20 or maybe look at a new console.

Five years ago I had the same problem as you. Two Studio 20s and this hugh CC470. Not only was the 470 too big, I was not that happy with the sound. I returned the CC470 to the dealer and he was able to order for me a single Studio 20 (sheilded). Not only did it fit better, but me it sounds way better to me. It sits on it's side under the plasma on a shelf. I have tilted up towards the listening area using two door stops under the front of the speaker. I am very, very pleased with this setup, especially with concert DVDs. Wonderfull seemless sound accross the front. I highly recommend this setup if Paradigm still sells single speakers. It has kept me very satisfied for the past five years. Hope this helps.

According to some of the reviews on Paradigm's website the tweeter in the CC-370 is the same as the tweeter used in the studio line, so if that's correct then wouldn't the CC-370 be a good match for the Studio 20s?
Or are those specs based on the previous run of the studio line?

Hey, thats an idea. That would work for me. My dealer wanted to talk with Paradigm on Monday to see if they had anything that would work. I will mention the single 20 on it's side. Do I need shielding with a plasma? The speaker would be 10" below the TV.

The tweeters are different. The CC370 uses a Titanium while the Studio Line uses an Aluminum. Not to mention the crossover points are off a different order. Your only option other than the CC470 is the Studio 20 on the side.

Only CRT TV's are affected by magnets.

Center channel location.

A bracket or shelf above the TV is a good option for the center channel in some rooms. That paradigm center is heafty so drill into studs.
