Greetings, my first post!
Could I get advise as to what I should do with an audio system I have been given, components as follows- all ca 2005 in a colleagues professionally designed/installed AV Room, which he rarely used, but the invoice was pretty staggering...

Receiver- B&K AVR 507 series2 silver w/ B&K remote
power supply- Panamax MAX 5410 Michael Cordea
speakers front- Martin Logan Fresco
speaker centre- Martin Logan Fresco
speakers rear- Martin Logan Vignette.
Subwoofer- Martin Logan Grotto powered.
DVD/CD Denon 2910

Everything is in close to new condition with little use. I am going to put it in my TV room with the Fresco's front and centre and Vignettes rear surround. I don't see the point of using the Denon as I could use BluRay with the digital input out to the 507 and HDMI to the TV? Do I require any more speakers?

Considering it was all free, (which I like considerably) am I on the right track?

Thank you all and may I wish everyone a merry Christmas!

If you aren't running 4k, you look good to go.

If you do want to run one of the newer HDMI standards, and use more than one source for your AVR, you might end up replacing the AVR. Till that moment happens: have fun.

Helluva free starter system! The Panamax could well be superfluous as the dvd/cd player you don't require, tho. You don't mention connecting/setting up the sub....you not going to use it?

Seriously, I have no life.
Welcome to AH :)

There is an on line manual for that Panamax. Nice unit. It has sequential power turn on and off.
While that feature is not really needed with an receiver, it may be of use. And, you can plug in all/most of the components; no need for a power strip. It is free.
Hopefully you have manuals for the components.

How did you setup the sub particularly? You know placement of the sub is key?

Thank you, I will read these carefully and learn to navigate this site. Merry Christmas! I just realized I got an Adcom 545 2 channel amp as well...
