I just wanted to post a follow up letting everyone at the site know that I received my cables already. Actually I got them on Friday. How's that for prompt delivery of a Prize. Win on Wednesday, get it delivered across the border on Friday. The timing couldn't have been better as I had my entertainment center pulled out to allow me access to some drywall behind it. The doorbell rang and it was a delivery guy. I honestly had no clue what it could be. I assumed I'd get the cables in a week or two. I did have to pay a brokerage fee, darn you Canada customs. How many times must you vexx me? I have no complaints about that in the least, there is nothing Impact Acoustics can do to stop the Canadian Govt. from grabbing for every last one of my pennies.
The cable came in a nifty box that uses a magnet to close itself, It will be reused as a gift box it is that nice. My first impression was wow, those are some beefy cables. Girth is important. Plus I like to say girth.
I have steered a couple of friends towards Impact Acoustics because they prices are great and the ship north of the border where I live. The cables they received were nice but not this thick. These Sonic Wave cables are super chunky, and they have a couple of nice cable organizers attached to them. The connectors at either end are of seemingly very high quality and are pretty attractive. I used this cable to replace a Monster digital audio and a generic s-video cable on my DVD player. The fit was very snug and the wires were much thicker than the ones they replaced. Best of all I got to show off the new cables because I had a buddy over to help me drywall. He knows a little bit about cables and was suitably impressed. It was a good thing too, because no one else is ever going to see these cables most likely. They are not beautiful looking cables by any stretch, but they are impressive none the less, and it is alway nice to have double shielding in a cable. I would highly recommend Impact Acoustics and their products to anyone looking for affordable high quality interconnects and wires.
Thanks again Impact, and thanks Audioholics for the contest.
