I went to see
Rain, a tribute band.
Wow, this was just a fantastic experience. These guys are top-notch musicians and entertainers. The multimedia stuff adds to the experience nicely, but of course, the real show is the music.
I got lucky and had second row tickets near center stage in an audience of well over 2,000. I saw the Beatlemania shows some years back, and I remember that being pretty good, but these guys on Saturday kicked butt!
In a show that went about 2 1/2 hours with a short intermission, I seriously don't think they missed a single note playing the songs I know as well as the back of my hand.
Seriously, a stellar performance from start to end, but I will now forever have a memory of the band playing While My Guitar Gently Weeps, and the medley from side two of Abbey Road. Killer stuff. Thanks boys!
Yes, I know it's a tribute band. Before you laugh, you've got to see these guys play. Don't miss them if they come to your neck of the woods.
