about getting some granite pads/bases made to place under my mini towers and sub. I would also use speaker spikes with this set up. Good idea, bad idea, looks cool but to real benefit? I await your replies......... :)

By putting something under your speakers, you will change their height relative to you, so they will sound different. This has nothing to do with some exotic claim that the purveyor of the granite probably makes.

Whether raising the speakers up will sound better or worse will depend upon what you like, and whether or not they are currently at the optimum height.

You will be coupling your loudspeakers to a large piece of rock. In addition to the height change effects Pyrrho mentioned, the added radiation of sound from a large piece of rock will also change what you hear.
