I hate Verizon [RANT]

I don't really want to go and write long post, but this small "detail" really drive me nuts!

I canceled my Verizon cell service on 1/1/12, but my billing cycle would end on 1/23/12.
It turns Verizon policy is not to credit you for unused days, but rather have the account suspended with billing till the end of the cycle - in other words:
even if you used only 1 day out of your cycle and cancel the service - they still would change for the whole month !!!

I had to escalate it manager to get this resolved. And even then
Not to mention their asinine fees -yea - if you didn't finish the contract - in addition to early termination fee (which structure is beyond me if after 19 months I still owe them $160) they would also change almost $32 !!! dollars in fees !! and have the shame to call them taxes - Taxes on what???
I dealt with many MANY telcos personally and professionally and I never heard such bs !!

[/rant]

sorry

I'm not a fan of any of the contract-based cell companies. I'm dropping Verizon as soon as I can with my military orders.

I feel your pain, but not with Verizon. With Comcast. These telecom companies have business models constructed for lock-in, indecipherable fees, and lack of transparency. They won't even tell you the real price unless you specifically ask. I think most of us would dump them if we could.

Before moving I called to cancel my Comcast subscription. In the same call I pre-paid for the partial month all the way till my last day. They still billed me for the full month and then sent a refund check to my new address. Very aggravating to say the least.
