Just picked up a Pioneer VSX-1016 yesterday, and I'll be trying it out today. I realize that its HDMI is very limited and that my SA Explorer box probably won't talk to it through HDMI....but I needed a receiver to tide me over while the dust settles on HDMI, 1010p, etc. (I have been using my lovely Marantz SR7000 for 7 years now!) I was going to go full hog with the VSX-84 Elite, but I just have this nagging feeling that now is not the time to commit that sum of money.
Man...this is a lot of receiver for the money!
I'll do a review once I get it set up.
