I want to learn what over the head headphone has the best capabilities. mainly bass though, of course the others features are just as important, bass has it own frequency etc so I just want the best bass headphones. I don't know what the highest sound i can get in a headphone but i have tried to reach it and I want the bass to be just as loud as it can be before I am bleeding from my eyes, noes, ears, and even teeth from the extreme vibrations.

any help with how high sound bass should be? thanks
what are the best bass headphones?

There are many headphones on the market that are bass heavy. Sennheiser is not one of them. I have had three different Senns and none are bass heavy, they are full range and the lastest purchase, the HD 650's are my favorites. try this forum, Headphones (full-size) they are very active and knowledgeable on the different headphones and there particular qualities. You want to make your ears bleed, then you will want an amp as well, to get enough voltage and current to power them. You have to decide if you want to use hearing aids when you get a little older or not, some of these phones with amps can put out over 110 db, you ears will literally bleed. Your choice. Get a good tube amp, rolls some tubes, and see what you like.

sounds like i found my dream girl headphone *drools*
headphones that can really make my ears bleed, possible. bass that can make my ears bleed impossible yes? wouldn't the bass just kind of circulate throughout the body?

@mrheadgear high sound bass i meant it to be as with the volume turned up very loud and the bass at it's highest possible set range. I like checking out how much sound a pair of headphones can support and I have numerously busted my headphones because of using too high of volume or mhz on them... poor headphones, but poorer costs bleh. bass heavy is what i am after, if not bass uncomfortablism.

I seem to recall some folks using tactile transducers when listening via cans, for that "body" bass you feel. Anyone tried that? It may be an affordable option for the OP, if it's worth pursuing at all (I've never tried it myself). I'm hoping the collective brain trust can answer.

Someone released a wearable "backpack" like version of one that I posted up before.

Depending on your budget, you might want to take a look at the planar-magnetic headphones from Audeze and Hifiman. I used to have the Hifiman HE-5LE, and it was like wearing subwoofers on my head. I did not like it that bassy, and prefer accurate and articulate bass, which I found in the Alpha Dogs from Mr. Speakers

You do realize that most of the visceral sensation of deep, extended bass that you seem to crave is felt more in the body than heard in your ears, don't you? That results from massive air movement and ain't no headphone alone will produce that. Look into those tactile transducers for that and, even then, I doubt it'll be anywhere near as satisfying as a good subwoofer moving the air around you.

This tells the story for me, even with music you don't necessarily listen to for the bass such as old country (my favorite genre :D )
