I Dedicate my HT to AH

I have gleened so much information from everyone here.... I've come such a long way and so many ways. Since I joined here, I have been in 5 different living situations and had the HT set up in only 3. One of which was an apartment, and really horrible.

Now I'm in our new house, and I wanted to share some pics. Why? EVERYONE LOVES PICS!

It's a horrible mess right now, we have had the basement flood 2 times, from user error on a roomates part, and a complete kitchen and bath remodel(still finishing the kitchen. It's nothing flashy or fancy, but it's my escape from the day.

Onto the pics!

First is the money shot.

Yup, that's a yammy Z7. I got a brain dead good deal on it the day after it came out.

Focupix screen Anamorphic

Now with lights off?

".....why so serious?"
"Because that's a sexy picture!"

120" screen and that was taken from seating position

Rosenut is sexy.

My audio is a 5.1 with energy 50's up front 10's in the back and the MTM style RC for center.

Sub work is a poor little Velo.

This is one of my favorite pictures.

Epson 1080UB.

Here is where I plant my fat rear.

The front couch has a flip down in the middle seat that has heat(the wife and cats are in heaven, we keep the house cold) and back and butt massage. Also a cup holders and a spot for movie snacks.... Not that I let anyone eat on them yet. I get to make the first stain on it damnit!

The black one in the back is a berkline. I got both new from a store for a stupid price. So low I would be stupid not to buy it.

The room is less than ideal. Leaky, no doors at all, leads to a spiral staircase. Drop celeing in nice reflective white tiles. The room came equiped with 2 full size snooker tables. I could not sell them, and was not going to pay to move them, so I ended up destroying the slab. I nearly cried at the thought of breaking up 3 inch peices like that. I salvaged all the wood. Sold some of it, as one table was nearly an antique, and the main body that held the slate of the antique is now the base that the second row of seating rests on. The work that went into taking out all that slate was insane. I borrowed an angle grinder and diamond disk and it actually started on fire while trying to cut the stone. The one I purchased to replace it would trip the breaker just trying to chew through 50% of that beautiful rock. I hope some of it can be used this summer when we add onto our ponds.

Here is some media and temp storage.

A huge mess! It's all a work in progress.

That is a very very sweeeeeeet setup, man I am jealous. That pic looks awesome and I have been wanting the speakers you have. Very nice. Now just upgrade that sub to a PB13Ultra and I'm moving in. ;)

all coments welcome!

What I like?

Love the energy RC's. For the cost can't be beat. I may try 7.1 some day, but I hear the Energy line in the RC's is not the same anymore. I may upgrade to DIY or pro some day.

Epson UB. Best bang for buck. Period. Nothing I have seen have I liked as much.

Front couch. I love the option for the wife to snuggle if she wants, or snap the fold down out and have beers and nachos with a buddy.

What I don't like?

Screen. The focupix screen though beautiful has some irregular bright spots. It's s minor nit pic, but recently, I noticed a hair line scratch too. I thought it was the wifes hair, but it's not. Can only be seen in verry bright scenes, and only from the front row. I also almost wish I went 16/9 not anamorphic. Only because I would like to have a larger screen real estate with the xbox and ps3. It would mean a huge over haul though to add verticle size and a complete rearrangement of the HT. It would also make putting up the center a PITA. Probably need to go AT. Not an option, as you can see the door in the pic. It leads to a storage room, that from time to time needs to be accessed.

I also am not a fan of the sub. It gets loud, fills the whole house if I want. It just doesn't scrape low into the hz enough for the sci fi geek in me.

What changes?

I think I might just take some pics of my next addition tonight...

I need to mount the PJ, and I just got a comercial mount. Also maybe work on the bar you see in the background pics there.

I also need to calibrate the whole system. I have not done it for audio or video, as nothing is in it's final location as of yet.

I'm sure I will have more ods and ends, but I am really working on the kitchen, and just got hit with a 6k price quote on counter tops and the truck broke down. Motorcycle needs tune up, my wedding to pay for in June... etc etc.

Life is busy and fun, but I htought I would share my peacefull place with you all!

Let me know what you think everyone! I really appreciate all the help I have go from this place. It's an amazing resource, and ask any questions you may have too. Also feel free to rip on what a crap hole mess it is. It might actualy motivate me to work some more on that project.

I say pour yourself into the wedding where you can. Get excited about it. Hopefully you only get married once. So enjoy it.;)

Thanks dem beats. So you didn't get those seats from Boston Tables, eh?

Calibrate your pic, pronto. Just get an AVIA or DVE for now. My guess is that first time will take 30-45 min, and after that, probably half the time.

You will notice a difference. For sure. And those particular models, 1080 UB, are known for even greater OTB variation.

Congratulations.

I took another gander.

Would you consider taller speaker stands for the surrounds? To fire over blocking furniture.

I would consider doing something to help decouple the center speaker from a resonating piece of furniture like that. Some people have had good success with Auralex Mopads. Mine is actually sitting on an acoustic panel. If it doesn't seem funny or weird to you, I'd give it a shot. You will deal with less unwanted reflected energy from the furniture, your dialogue will be that much more centered, and your tweeters will be closer to the same plane.

Ciao.

JOSTEN!
I never got those seats your right. Good memory. I ended up waiting so long, there was a sale at a local home furnature, and I got those two leather couches for a song.

Hi there budy! I will look into calibrating sooner. I thought it would take much longer.

I AM thinking about elivating the stands for the surrounds. You read my mind on that one.

As for the center, Again you are on the money. I was going to take teaser pics, but family came over last night with the woman after her dress fitting, so I did the mad dash clean up dance. The center will be on a small stand of some sort, or a pedistal in front of or on top of my new sub woofer project!

I have a sexy pair of Mael-x's waiting to be built and installed.

It's almost as messy as Isiberian's first pics...ALMOST.:D:D:D

It looks like a good start. Having a dedicated space can't be beat.
It is a mess isn't it! :D
Unfortunately, our house needs so much more other places!

I'm also working on a whole house audio video and security integration. I just got our pc's networked and my server PC up and running full throttle with all my audio on it. I also plan to do a 2 chan for the living room. Maybe a SMAL set up for the bed room too.

I found an insane deal on some sharp aquos 52" displays. So I got 2! One for the bedroom untill the roomie that flooded the basement moved out, but once she did, I couldn't give up my bedroom TV, so I purchased a sister for the living room.

I should also mention the gear stand you see in the first pic, and the surround stands you can't see in the back are made by the wifes father as a birthday present to me to match the speakers themselves.

I got verry lucky and am married into a GREAT family.

Nice selection in equipment. I sometimes wonder if I should have gone with your screen size.

Keep us posted on your progress.
