Hi,

I haven't been using my receiver for a while and yesterday evening I try to turn it on but when I press power the light "network" turns on and if I press again the light "FL off" turns on but nothing else... I don't know what is going on... Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Thanks for your message. What is the cause, I only had it for a few months? I can't be repaired? When I type my post I was in a hurry and I should have type this, however I don't know if it will be more helpful or not :

I didn't use my receiver for a while and last evening I wanted to turn it on. The network light is always on and when I pushed power on the remote the indicator light "LF off" goes on and the front USB light flashes and goes off (I have a USB key plugged in ).

Did you buy it new or is it an old AVR? To me. it looks like it dates and the warranty is expired.

I'd first try a soft reset (unplug the avr from power for a while) and if that didn't do it, try to initiate a factory/microprocessor reset per your manual.

If you bought it from an authorized dealer, the warranty should cover a repair or a replacement.
I've tried to contact Amazon a few minutes ago and was chatting with somebody but they were experiencing some technical problems so I will have to try later or call them tomorrow to find out about the warranty.

Ok I'm going to unplug it for a while and see for the factory/microprocessor reset later

Worth a try, it may not do anything. I'd think you'd need to deal with the warranty via Pioneer rather than thru Amazon, tho.

I did not realize it was that new. Here is how you do a factory reset: -

❏ Resetting the unit (this resets the unit settings to the default) If the restart of the unit does not solve the problem, reset the unit, and restore all the settings to the factory default at the time of purchase. This may solve the problem. If the unit is reset, your settings are restored to the default values. Be sure to note down your setting contents before performing the following operations. 1. While pressing and holding ZONE 2-CONTROL of the input selector on the main unit with the unit turned on, press the STANDBY/ON button. 2. "Clear" is displayed on the display, and the unit returns to the standby state. Do not remove the power cord until "Clear" disappears from the display. To reset the remote controller, while pressing and holding MODE, press CLEAR at least 3 seconds.

I highly doubt a soft reset will work. Try at least three resets before you give up.

If you can not get the LCD to show clear, then it will not take a reset and has serious problems.

If you bought in December then you should be eligible for a replacement unit, depending on what the warranty says. It is a 2019 year model and you bought it December 2019.

I doubt they will let you exchange it for something else, but give it a try, if it will not reset. The Pioneer/Onkyo gear does not have a good reputation. The problem is that these units when out of warranty are generally not worth the cost of repair, or can not be repaired. That is the way of robotically placed component boards, where the components are surface mounted.

I agree, I think he is stuck with Pioneer and not Amazon after this length of time.

Hi, I did the factory reset yesterday evening. I pressed and held "control" then "power" and the menu was back on. Of course that deleted my previous setting and I will have to work on that. I will do more testing today and if everything works I will close this thread. Any idea what happened with my receiver?... Thanks again for your help and thanks to everybody who contacted me.

Thanks for your message. Actually the first factory reset worked. I just wonder what happened...

I'm going to suspect sloppy design again. I think the key to this is that you had not used it for some time. So I suspect there is some part that has volatile memory, that would be best avoided. I suspect that the memory is preserved by a nanocap (lazy) and that the period of non use was long enough fro the nano cap to loose its charge and you had to reset it.

How many times did you ever have to reboot various computers? It happens. If you start with a soft reset (unplugging it) that doesn't lose your settings like a full reset.
