Hypothetical AVR Question

Here’s the hypothetical scenario. An anonymous newbie purchased a decent set of speakers. Let’s say Polk R700’s along with a decent receiver. Let’s say a 100 watt Onkyo NR7100. Things sound pretty good in his opinion. However, would the purchase of say, a 140 watt Onkyo receiver have resulted in significantly better audio quality? In other words, does a higher watt AVR or amplifier equate with significantly improved audio quality? Thank you!

The power rating itself does not mean the more powerful AVR will have better performance. But, if you are comparing the TX-NR7100 to the TX-RZ70, the RZ70 is a better machine all the way around.
