I just look forward to seeing one in real life! It's HUGE. I'd be afraid that if I got one (after selling my kidney, lung and uh... everything...) that it'd come to life @ night and eat the other TV's in the house! "mmmm..... baby hdtv..." chomp!

Anybody heard the projected MSRP for such a unit?

OK, so I can keep the kidney... and just sell the house... :D
Wow. I wonder how many of those they will actually sell for over $100K.

As soon as Toshiba, Sony, Mitsubishi, and Samsung sign on for competition, the price will plummet to....say....50 G's.

For that, why not build a light-controlled addition to your house and get a really nice projector / sound system / motion seating / concession stand? Hell, you could even hire a sulky teenager to come and work the stand before showtimes!

I'd hate to try and get that thing up a flight of stairs. Could you imagine letting a moving guy put his hands on it???

I equate this to a concept car - they'll only make a few, they'll cost a tremendous amount, the performance will be questionable, but in 10 years everyone will have something like it for a small fraction of the price.

I read somewhere the price was around 100k as well. You will be surprised just how many they will sell. Many well to do folks can't wait to have the latest thing out, topping their rival neighbors 60 or 70 inch plasma. "You only have a 60 inch plasma?! Go take a look at my 103"
Heck, Sleestack may even be on the preorder list already.:)
Better get Ahnold and Lou Ferrigno (sp?) to come set it for you. Also hope you have walls made with 2 x 6s instead of 2 x 4s.
Only negative I see is it may not fit over the fireplace...unless you have a really great room.:p

Ok, twist my arm........I'll take two :p

I can always use a couple new TV's for the bathrooms.

EDIT: BTW- RJ, you better buy her that RX8 first.

LOL, I could buy 3 of 'em for the price o' one Panny. Hey, here's an idea. When you move out to Oregon, get the big ONEOHTHREE, and we'll come visit....A LOT! ;)

That is awesome. Somewhere there is a rapper that cannot wait to put that in his bedroom in time for MTV cribs.

I agree with the other projector post

My movie screen is 105 inches, and I didn't pay anywhere close to 100K for my projector movie screen set up not even when I add in the rest of my system INCLUDING the two motor controlled leather reclining theater seats.

Is the benefit of a clear picture without turning the lights off and the shades down worth another 98,000 dollars. Well for me, who doesn't have that sort of money NOOOO. you know if I won the Lottery or something maybe...

Those are pretty much statement pieces. Cool, but nobody we know will ever buy one. The other thing is they (so far) never seem to ship. I think they are one-offs... I.e. Panasonic, et al, charge enough that if someone really wants one they can take a deposit and build it.

"Panny" is short for Panasonic, "Sammy" for Samsung, and "Westy" for Westinghouse. I've never heard the third one myself but Westinghouse is the only brand I know of that starts with west. :)

That plasma is rediculously large. I would never buy one that big. A projection system would be much nicer for a very small fraction of the cost. I see flicker on "small" 50 inch plasmas. I can only imagine the flicker on that 103" screen.
