<P><FONT face=Arial size=2>Brillian Corp. and privately held Syntax Groups Corp. today announced that the companies have entered into a definitive agreement to merge. This is possibly one of the biggest announcements all year with respect to HDTV. Syntax Groups has consistently been manufacturing and selling the least expensive LCD panels in the industry (getting a 7% marketshare if that tells you anything) and Brillian has had its sights set on LCoS technology for longer than I bet they care to admit. I have to agree that the combined company, Syntax-Brillian will be uniquely positioned to deliver high-end and mass-market HDTV solutions supporting the two technologies many believe will dominate the future HDTV market: TFT-LCD and LCOS.</FONT></P><P><FONT face=Arial size=2>[
