anyone have any problems with this receiver with bitsreaming from blu ray players? The oppo is what i am concerned with as I have had some problems with my new Denon 890 I purchased yesterday and may return it for a yamaha.

If it were me having a problem with the 890 I'd rather fix the problem than to swap for the Yamaha. The Denon has much better room correction software IMO. Audyssey Multi EQ is pretty dang good.

You can either bitstream the audio signal (HDMI only) or let the Oppo do the decoding. It should work either way. If the Oppo does the decoding you won't get that little HD Audio light to come on - just in case thats what you were looking for.

I had a few other problems with the 890 not putting sound out when I first set it up and again when I reset it. I also had some blu ray problems with some other movies I tried..movies that had worked on my old receiver and not on the denon. Maybe I got a bad apple and I took it back. The new yamaha worked like a charm out of the box. I was disappointed as I liked the features in the denon but I also am happy with the Yamaha. It will just take some time to set the speakers up properly..Thanks for the help
