Has anyone else attempted to build a HTPC lately? I order all my parts a few months ago, through a friend, and they all finally arrived last week. Once I got them, i found out that my hd tuner card will NOT fit in my case... It is like 1/8 inch too wide for the retention bracket. So i tried a different hd tuner (the two i tried were the hauppage mce 500 and ati hd wonder), and SAME THING! Exasperated, I brought the cards and case back to the shop to see if the owner could have better luck with any other products. I called 2 days ago, and apparently there are no HD tuners that are less than full-size, which is actually oversized, and there are no htpc cases (ones that look like components like receivers) bigger than the one I had. Sooooo, I could have payed him a couple hundred to custom fabricate me a case, i suppose, but i have already spent enough money on this, so I ended up getting a generic black tower case, which isn't going to fit on a shelf obviously.
Anyone else run into a problem like this lately?
