Nevermind about these cases, I actually found some write ups and they weren't good. The only good thing about this thread turned out to be that I increased my post count a bit.

The thing I have noticed about multimedia pc's is people tend to over build them.

In reality if you use good tuner cards that have mpeg hardware encoders and run Linux +Myth TV you can get by with even a 1Ghz Pentium 3 system. I went to a talk by my local Linux users group and the speaker had a system built on a just that, with two Haupauge cards he had no problem recording two shows while watching a recorded one.

What this has to do with cases? Well lower powered systems require less cooling and fan noise is the main issue I have with a PC in the living room...

I picked up on of these MicroFly cases off Craig's list for $20 minus the power supply. Put in a micro AXT board that has an AMD Semperon 2800+. Nice thin about this case is you can put a 4 inch fan in the rear, one trick I like is buying a 24V fan and run it off the 12V line. That way it's nice and quiet.

I don't disagree with that. One of my criteria however is that I want it to look right at home with the rest of my equipment... like it belongs there as another pc of a/v equip as opposed to a computer case. I've been going back and forth on a couple of different ones, but have yet to really decide. I really like the Omaura cases, but they don't seem to have a solid footing delivery-wise just yet. Either way, I just want something sleek that will look at next to my Sunfire Amps and Pioneer Elite Receiver.

I've been actually thinking of going with a much smaller sleeker case on the equipment side and just having a seperate media server in the other room. That way I could keep the case smaller and sleeker and I would have more options. My only concern now that I think about it would be the video card limitations. I was thinking about this case http://www.omaura.com/tf5.html with this to store the hard drives http://www.omaura.com/tfhdd.html but I think the frist case is just to small to house a serious video card, tuner cards, and probably a sound card if the manf. go the dual card solution for the lossless audio output. I do like these cases however and would still consider either the TF8 or TF11. I'm told they're supposed to be available in silver at some point.
