Hey has anyone here ever owned or are at least familiar with the amps offered over at home theater direct or htd.com? They have a 2-channel amp rated to deliver 100X2 rms or 300X1 rms bridged(8ohm) for only $200!!!! Not bad if it delivers what it says it will. They also have a 12-channel amp that is rated 12X35 rms or 100X6 rms all channels bridged(8ohm) for like $649. Anybody here ever had the chance to demo these or better yet own one? Please enlighten us with your experiences.

HMMMM does not look like the htd amps sell very well. Kinda what I figured given the price--you know get what you pay for mentallity. If any of you even demoed one from htd please chime in and enlighten us. Am sure there are many others curious to know as well. I can NOT find any reviews of them either. Found a few speaker reviews that were very positive BUT is kinda outdated.

Budget pro-amp

For a budget stereo amp from a reputable manufacturer, check out the $180 Behringer A500. Delivers over 200 Watts x 2 into 4 ohms. AudioSource is another good manufacturer of inexpensive amps and refurbished models occasionally show up on ubid.

Yeah Audiosource is actually very good to say the least. In fact, the htd amps look an awful lot like them and I would not be surprised if they were affiliated. I may try one down the road and if it is junk just send it back and be done with it. All I would lose is a little bit for shipping. Who knows the htd amps may be decent for the money. What I would like to do is bridge one to handle center channel duty and run another in stereo to my front left and right speakers. Allow my receiver to handle rear amplification and see how it jells together. If I do this I will be sure to let everyone here know how it performs. It may be a while cause just bought a $900 hdtv that I need to recover from first. Sad when my funds are rather limited but at least it allows me to work towards something. Thanks for the info. Have a great evening.

Hi Speakerman,
I'm looking at getting a HTD amp myself (the multi-channel MA-1235). Did you end up purchasing the HTD amp? If so, how did it work out for you?

Anyone else out there with any HTD experiences? Those with STD experiences need not fill us in with any gory details... :)
