HT space is the main living room

Thanks for all the recent advice offered from the folks in these forums. 10 - 15 years ago I came here and was guided to HT bliss and had been content for years. Of course, all things change over time and moving houses inevitably caused me to combine our dedicated HT room into the new main living room.

Of course I was being pressured to give up on my previous equipment and invest in a sound bar. Sound bars are great but I just hated giving up my old speakers. With the advice here I was able to negotiate my way into keeping my front stage and one of my subs...but now I have a new problem, speaker placement.

The room is open in one side and I thought a wider sound stage would be better for this. So I placed my mains far apart. I'm having doubts about that now. Also, I have my 15" subwoofer right next to the seating area. It makes location very obvious during a rumble scene. Finally, the listening position is right at the back wall. For surrounds I'll have to put them near the ceiling. Since that is the case would it he better to make them Atmos speakers? I have no idea atmos was a thing...tells you how long I've been out of the scene.

I'll probably need to avoid using my Behringer 2030p speakers as surrounds so will be looking for some small cube speakers to carry that duty but it made me also think about adding some small cube speakers near the ceiling above my main speakers as presence speakers. Is that something I should consider? They'd have to be pretty small...I already feel like I'm pressing my luck by keeping my MFW-15 and Rocket 850 mains.
