HT shopping... suggestions?

Okay, for now I have the T.V., but I need everything else so, I am thinking of starting off with the amp, a Pioneer VSX-1014tx-k.

I need speakers and a DVD player. I am willing to spend approximately $2k (Canadian) for these components.

Suggestions for the best bang for my Canadian buck? And where should I look for these items - Future Shop, Best Buy, Visions ?

Those speakers look great! I have never heard of them, can anyone atest to their quality, sound etc.? What would be a suitable amp?

Both crutchfields and 6ave are American distrubutors, any good Canadian stores out there?

the Energy units are well-regarded for sound quality in posts here and use some of the more beautiful wood I've seen (judging fom the site pics). either would be a solid buy.
