HT and Townhouse living with a basement?

We live in a Townhouse now, renting for a while till we buy a house hopefully this summer. The townhouse we have now has no basement so HT, especially the sub part is an obvious issue. Question is if we find a townhouse with a basement does that make any different as far as Home theater and subs/bass? Or is it gonna be the same situation and don't even bother with this route?

I’m sleeping in my new apartment for the first time tonight. I’ll be getting a second PB1000 in a couple days, figure a more even bass response will be easier to control.

BTW a local dealer ordered over 400 PB1000’s (not pro) and they will be on sale for less than MSRP. I don’t think I’m supposed to say how much yet.

Would depend a lot on construction details I'd think. I lived in a townhouse as a kid and it had really good insulation between the two, never heard the neighbors (but they weren't particularly loud either OTOH). Both basements were concrete so sound travel from there was probably the least as well....but even on the other floors never heard 'em....

Thanks guys, I honestly don't know what to do. There is a very nice townhouse development in town that has places for sale. They are 2 story with a garage and basement. There is actually elevators in your garage so you don't have to walk to up groceries and things. They look extremely well built townhomes. I wonder how the basement is?
