HSU VTF-3 MK2 vs Axiom EP500

I've gotten the sub selection down to the short list and would greatly appreciate some opinions from the experts.

The two candidates are:

• HSU VTF-3 MK2
• Axiom EP500

How do these two compare?

Its read a lot of good things about both. I'd like to get the Axiom, but its $400 more (delivered) than the HSU. The HSU is right at my budget and seems like it'd be a good fit with the rest of my HT.

Any thoughts?

Personally, I'd go for the HSU based on price and the huge following they have. I'd also consider the SVS PB12-Plus if you can fit the monster in the room.

The more I read on HSU the more it seems to be the right choice.

Funny you mention space and the PB12. I am a space constrained and the only reason its not on my list is because I can't fit the dang thing! I've got a fireplace in one corner that chews up valuable wall space and a corner.

What about a Cylinder SVS then...? Only 16" of floor space

I'm with you on the Hsu and with future upgradeablility...as John said the SVS Plus cylinders are pretty equivalent if you can live with the industrial modern fashion statement.

The VTF-3 fills my 17x28x8 room extremely well with good solid bass. I'm almost hesitant to get the turbo upgrade as I am totally satisfied with the way it is now. I'm sure the Axiom is an excellent sub, it's up to you if you think it's worth the extra cost.

start read here and get to next several pages with opinon on EP500. it seem the ep500 has better sound quility and clarity. it turn out ep500 win the contest. payattention to craigsub, jakeman, jeffd posts

I just bought the VTF-3 MK2 and this thing is awesome!!! What did you end up getting?

After a LOT of review and forum reading I'm going with the VTF-3 MK2.

I called to order it and they're out of stock! This was last Thursday. The guy was very friendly and told me to call back this Thursday, which I will be doing.

I can't wait to get it!
