Hsu VTF-3 MK II or Definitive Super Cube II

For what room? Deftech's response numbers can be misleading and optimistic at best. I HIGHLY doubt that sub will reach 14Hz. Having heard similar subs to the Deftech and a few of the older models, I'd have to say the VTF-3.

Room size is 25x15 and it opens to another bigger room....speakers are 7" Speaker craft in-ceiling speakers...

Depends what you want... If you want a smaller footprint, then go with the Def Tech. Keep in mind that Def Tech tends to overspecify their subwoofers.

If you want lower extension with higher SPL, then I would go with the HSU. However, you sacrifice size to get this extension.

Yep, there's a big size difference between the two. If you can live with the size, the VTF-3 should give you more for your money (IMHO).

Having owned both, VTF-3 MK II without question. Lower, louder, and more articulate.

I have sold Def Tech subs, and I own an HSU sub. That might tell you right there my answer. You pay a lot for the glossy look of a deftech, plus the fact that it has three subs. But they wont compare to quality of HSU. HSU subs sound a lot more clean, and less boomy than deftech subs. But both can get very low.
