Did you ever decide on this?

I have the same issue and am leaning toward the HSU STF 2. What was your experience?

If your 75% HT, I'd lean towards the eD as it'll hit a little lower and it has a larger woofer.

Ended up going with HSU STF-2 since I found a killer deal on it from a local seller, and the eD site does a build to order type of thing on their subs.

I plan on getting a 2nd HSU STF-2 as well. Great sub, can't go wrong. However, I do think that the eD is the better sub for HT. Heard both of them, eD for HT, HSU for Music.

Those are two on my short list. Unless eD has some kind of crazy deal probably won't make the cut 'cause I just don't care for the spray in truck liner bed look.
If they don't really have that look/texture please let me know I'm wrong cause they have some great stats and following.

Yeah I really don't care how they look, I just bought the eD A2-300 because of what is already fore-mentioned. However the wait is killing me. It takes a full four weeks for them to make the sub and ship it to you.

Oh nevermind, check out how long it took them to get it to me:

04/23/2009 Processing
04/24/2009 Awaiting Woodshop
04/24/2009 Box Under Construction
05/05/2009 Shipped
Thats what.. two weeks? :D

Personally I would get the eD A2-300. The STF-1 is better musically and it will take up less space. But the eD A2-300 will hit much deeper and go much louder. It all depends on what you prefer. In your situation the A2-300 is the better option

Couldn't find this exact question answered so hopefully someone can help me.

For budget circumstances I have narrowed down my choices to these 2 subs. For 75/25 HT/Music what would be a better choice?

Thanks

I have the HSU stf-2 and it is great for my small bedroom setup. I listen to classical music with very large orchestras. This sub is fantastic for this purpose. It does a very good job with movies in my room.
My son has a larger room and I suggested he get an ED a2-300. His sub can move furniture in the apartment above him when watching movies. In fact it pressurizes the room and moves the cuffs of your pants with the amount of air it moves. I have not listened to my music on his sytem yet so I cannot comment on its music reproduction. Movies are an "eviction notice" lol!

My HSU stf 2 is in a small room and amazes me at its punch. From the basement, it moves things on the second floor. My only problem, however is keeping it down. Music doesn't do this but some movies make it hop around the floor until it strains on its interconnect. I need to pile a couple bags of playground sand on top of it but that would be quite unsightly.
